Parental Guidance

Private advisory for families making decisions about children and technology in real life

By application only

Parental Guidance is a private advisory with expert Jessica Elefante. It’s for families who want to be intentional about how technology shows up in their children’s lives.

Most families are making decisions about technology in real time without clear guidance, and often without realizing the long-term impact. By the time something feels obviously wrong, patterns are already in place.

My work is about getting ahead of that…or correcting it before it goes further.

You don’t need more information. You need help making decisions that actually hold up in real life. Devices, school expectations, social pressure, group chats—it adds up, then updates, and changes age restrictions before you can even understand the rules and appreciate the stakes.

I help you think it through, decide what makes sense for your family, and put boundaries in place that you can actually stick to—while navigating school, peers, and how things change as kids grow.

This is a focused, high-touch engagement designed to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

This work sits at the intersection of how technology is designed, how children develop, and how families actually live.

Who this is for

This is for parents of children ages 0–16 who are:

  • introducing technology and want to do it intentionally

  • thinking ahead and wanting to set things up well from the start

  • trying to set or hold boundaries that actually work

  • navigating devices, school expectations, or social pressure

  • noticing shifts and wanting to understand what’s going on

  • feeling unsure what’s normal and what’s not

You’ll leave with a clear, grounded approach to how technology fits into your family (one that actually works in your real life).

About me

I’ve worked in tech and media, giving me an insider’s perspective on how these systems are built and used. I was raising concerns about their impact on children early on—well before it became a mainstream conversation.

I’ve also been navigating this in my own home as a mother of two (14 and 4) since 2011.

My work has been featured in TIME, The Atlantic, 60 Minutes, ABC, and more.

What this includes

  • A short intake ahead of our first meeting so I can understand your family and come in prepared

  • A 60-minute initial consultation

  • A personalized plan based on your family, your values, and your reality

  • Clear recommendations (devices, timing, boundaries, media, systems)

  • Guidance navigating school, peers, and social dynamics

  • Ongoing email access for 30 days as questions come up in real time

  • A physical Parental Guidance Kit, including a selected device, a printed manual, an “unplug” box, and conversation cards—along with ongoing analog mail for both you and your child

  • A final consultation to refine and lock in our approach
